This Weekend in Lahore: Discovering the City and the Self
Are you ready for this weekend in Lahore? We’ve got food festivals, plays and performances, and masterclasses. You’ll be a busy bee, but don’t let that thought overwhelm you. Stick with this curated guide and you’ll see the best of what this weekend has in store for you.
Lahore Eat 2019
After two years of constant last-minute postponements and cancellations, it seems like we’re finally getting Lahore Eat back and I could not be more excited. This year, Lahore Eat is heading to where it all began – Jilani Park. The three-day festival will bring together all of your favorite eateries from Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. How’s that for variety?
P.S. Tickets will be available at the gates. Stay tuned for deals with digital payments
Heer by Waris Shah
National History Museum will host a theatrical adaptation of ‘Heer’ – a popular tragic romance written by Waris Shah in 1766. The play will be performed by Sangat Theatre Group. Sangat is a feminist peoples theatre group which has slowly but steadily been growing in prominence across major cities in Pakistan. You definitely want to check them out.
P.S. Space is limited so try to get there early to score a seat
Attention budding music producers of Lahore! Mix engineer to the stars, Ahmed Khan, is going to be hosting a two-day masterclass on mix techniques at True Brew Records. Ahmed’s portfolio includes work by international artists, such as Jason Derulo, as well as local musicians, such as Abdullah Qureshi. Want to take your music to the next level? Start here.
P.S. Those attending get custom designed sample packs by Ahmed himself
Journey to Joy
The three-day workshop promises to dramatically change your life. A few friends who have attended the workshop are willing to vouch for it, so I am convinced. The program will holistically improve your mental and physical health through a combination of yoga, meditation, breathing techniques as well as practical knowledge sessions. Worth a try I’d say.
P.S. Sign up for a weekend of transformation
Dance First, Think Later!
Whether you want to be Pakistan’s next Nighat Chaodhry, get toned in time for summer, or simply pull off the best wedding performance of the season, this is the course for you. Taught by Luka Kelvin, this is going to be a crash course in hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, and mambo. The whole point is to dance first, think later.
