This Weekend in Lahore: Babes and Babies
This weekend in Lahore is already starting to shape up. With festivals, performances and readings to attend, you’ll end up having the time of your life with the people who matter the most. Whether with friends or with family, here’s what you have to look forward to:
International Puppet Festival
The Rafi Peer International Puppet Festival has been a Lahore tradition for as long as I can remember. The festival is a celebration of globally renowned puppet masters and various forms of puppetry. Spend a day in the sun making memories that your little ones will cherish forever.
P.S. Tickets are available online
This month, the British Council Library is celebrating love, especially the bonds between parent and child, with a reading of Sam McBratney’s bestselling children’s book. The best bit: there’s a petting zoo on site for attendees, in collaboration with Zacky Farms. Your kids will be psyched, and so will you!
P.S. You’ll need to register to attend
The National History Museum will be hosting a slam-poetry night by the name of Sham-e-Zauq, in collaboration with Pavilion Lahore. The event features young artists and poetry enthusiasts reading their original poetry. The bold initiative will bring all of our local languages to one stage.
P.S. The event is open to all but you’ll need to register to perform
The Auratnaak crew is back at Olo Junction after what seems like a lifetime. Mostly hilarious and always controversial, this is one stand-up night you definitely don’t want to miss. The only prerequisite to attending is having a thick skin, and a plus one. Sorry boys, I don’t make the rules.
P.S. Tickets will be available at the venue
Tired of reading the same old tropes in every romance book? Sick of the rehashed plots and predictable character development? Well, join this weekends bookclub as they read Eleanor & Park. It’s a fresh take on the age-old genre and one of my new favorites. Sign up quickly.
P.S. Prior registration is mandatory
There you have it Lahoris, a complete list of everything happening this weekend in Lahore. You’ve got two whole days to get your shit together before diving right in!
