Bu’ger Off: Flaming Hot and Smashed on the Weekend
Fasten your seatbelts kids, I’ve just discovered the ride of a lifetime for you. A brand new burger joint has opened up in DHA, and I just so happened to try it out over the weekend. Bu’ger Off is a small shop in the unassuming K block of Phase 3, and if you like your burgers saucy, smashed, and messy, you don’t want to miss it.
Bu’ger Off: Welcome to the Jungle
My friend and I discovered it last Saturday and were greeted by the owner as soon as we entered the three-story shop. She asked us if it was our first time there and was kind enough to give us a complete run through of the menu. We placed our order and made our way upstairs where we came across a pile of games. Customers have a wide variety of board games to choose from while waiting for their food. One set of ‘Sequence’ later, our doggy bags arrived.
We’d ordered Flaming Hot Mozzarella Sticks, Buffalo Wings, a Wild Chilli Chicken Burger and a Mouth Full of Cheese Beef Burger in Mushroom Sauce. Although it was meant for takeaway, I couldn’t help but munch on it in the car. It just smelled so good.
Flaming Hot Mozzarella Sticks
‘Flaming-Hot-Anything’ is always a Cheetos crusted creation, and these mozzarella sticks were no different. Unfortunately, none of that spice translated into the overall flavor profile. They tasted more like regular mozzarella sticks with a slightly smoky flavor, not that I’m complaining at all. There’s no real way of messing up deep fried cheese.
The Buffalo Wings at Bu’ger Off are next to perfection. Tangy, tender, juicy, and spicy. The wings were slathered in an optimum quantity of sauce and spice. It was a flawless combination of heat, zest, and buttery flavor. A must try.
Wild Chilli Chicken Burger
I’m not one to eat a chicken burger, but I was committed to trying a bit of everything so I asked my friend for a quick bite of her Wild Chili Chicken Burger. The burger consisted of a grilled chicken fillet, lettuce, and chipotle mayonnaise, sheltered in cushiony potato buns and topped with a spicy peri sauce. Besides having a great balance between the spicy and citrusy, the chicken fillet was succulent a juicy. Bug’er Off knows how to cook their chicken.
Mouth Full of Cheese Beef Burger in Mushroom Sauce
This burger was an absolute beast. A soft potato bun was slathered in mustard and spicy mayo and coupled with a thick mushroom sauce. I can’t emphasize enough on how flawlessly the beef patty was seasoned and cooked. But they didn’t just stop there. There was a mozzarella disk in the burger and it ensures that every bite was ooey, gooey, melty perfection. A party in my mouth. No, not a party, a rager! This was easily the best burger I’ve ever had in Lahore.
Bug’er off is now my favorite burger place in Lahore. They deliver the holy trifecta of quantity, quality, and affordability. The staff was helpful and gracious, and the board game vibe was great too. Next time you’re in the mood for a good burger, Bu’ger off and give their menu a try!
